Louise P. Darby, 93, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, passed away peacefully at La Posada, where she called home the past 14 years, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Louise was born in Rochelle Park, NJ on April 1, 1924. She was a remarkable woman, full of class and grace, and an inspiration to anyone who knew her. She graduated from Syracuse University and became a Latin teacher at the Out of Door School in Siesta Key, FL. Louise and her family moved to Palm Beach Gardens, FL in 1968, where she pursued her career in real estate, and opened her own real estate officeCelestial Realty. She was one of the best in the business and considered a real professional by anyone she dealt with. She married Harry Darby on July 22, 1976. They had a wonderful marriage and traveled the world together until he passed in 2004. Louise was a giving person, and very involved in volunteer work. She and Harry volunteered for Northern Palm Beach County Home Delivered Meals. She was a breast cancer survivor, and volunteer for the 's "Reach to Recovery" program for 25 years where she visited cancer patients in the hospital and at their homes. She was also an active member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church where she volunteered at their thrift shop until 6 months ago. She is survived by her sons Karl Robert Taylor of North Palm Beach, FL, John Duffy Taylor of Las Vegas, NV, James Bradley Taylor of the Philippines, Benjamin J. Darby of Hazard, KY, Richard R. Darby of Midlothian, VA, and Gary T. Darby of Dallas, TX; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her two brothers Charles and Rudy Pfuhl. Louise was very fortunate that her granddaughter Erin Taylor Higginbotham lived close by, and she lived to hold her newest 8-week old great-grandchild Claire Louise, named after her. A Memorial service will be held Saturday October 7, 2017 at 11:00AM at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 3395 Burns Road, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33410.
