Thomas E. Blaney, age 83, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Agnes Blaney (Miller), his children Kelly Daley (Joe), Tom (Joyce Chen), Mike (Renee), Kerry and his beloved grandchildren Ryan, Jarrod, Brianne, Anne-Marie and Catherine. He is also survived by his brother Jim Blaney, sisters Helen (Gene) Polak and Peg (A.J.) Budres, brother-in-law Ray Mieras, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law Katie and his sister Janet Mieras.
He was born on February 15, 1933 in Tiffin, Ohio and lived in Grand Haven, MI where he met and married Agnes Miller in 1957. They moved to Florida in 1969 to escape the long, cold Michigan winters and they raised their four children in Palm Beach Gardens. Tom served in the United States Army and was a proud veteran who loved his country. He retired from Gulfstream Motors in 1996 and spent his retirement years golfing, volunteering at his church, traveling and watching Ohio State football. He was a devoted family man whose pride and joy was spending time with his family. He was a kind and generous man who always put the needs of others before his own. He was an amazing father, grandfather and a loving husband. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. A Memorial Mass will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, October 22, 2016 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 13591 Prosperity Farms Road, Palm Beach Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to West Palm Beach VAMC, Voluntary Service, Speech Pathology General Post Fund #8097, 7305 N. Military Trail (135), WPB, FL 33410.
