Holmes, Roger W.
Roger Holmes, born in Babylon, NY, September 19, 1938, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on February 22, 2017. He was predeceased by his wife, Maureen, in 2003. After graduating from Babylon High School in 1957, Roger served in the Coast Guard until the untimely death of his father. Taking control of the family business, Holmes Ambulance and Oxygen Service, Roger transformed the struggling company into one of the largest Home Care supply companies in the New York Metro area. He sold Holmes Medical Supply in the mid 1980's.
An avid fisherman and boater, Roger and Maureen set off on the Lady Maureen and found their new home in Jupiter, Florida, at Admirals Cove. Roger loved to travel, from his favorite fishing spot in Cabo San Lucas to many spots around the world. Not one to retire, his entrepreneurial spirit led him to a career in real estate with his three sons. While successful in all his business ventures, family was his priority in life. Roger was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, friend and mentor to many. Roger was a one of a kind guy with a great sense of humor. He was very generous and will be sorely missed by all those who knew him. Many fond memories will continue to live on in our hearts and minds forever. We are consoled by his strong faith, and know that he is at home and at peace.
He is survived by his sons, Chris, David and Dan; their wives Debbie, Lori and Michele; and his grandchildren, Christopher, Tim, Julianne, Stephanie and Danny; as well as many adoring nieces and nephews
