Nicholas F. Porto, age 93, of Jupiter passed away November 11, 2016. He graduated from Yale University, Class of 1944, with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He served two years in the U.S. Navy in WWII. Nicholas retired in 1983 after working 40 years for Pratt and Whitney Aircraft. He enjoyed Boating, Fishing, Golf, Bowling, and especially Dancing. Mr. Porto was a member of the Jupiter Elks Lodge 2469, Knights of Columbus (3rd degree council 6569) and (4th degree assembly 0155), the American Legion - Post 0271. He also was a member of the Jupiter Inlet Beach Club, having served as past president and was on the board for 10 years. In his retirement years he served 16 years on the Jupiter Inlet Colony Town Council and as Mayor for 10 years.
He was predeceased by his wife, Jane and son, Gregory and is survived by his daughter, Janice Porto and brother, George Porto.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Tuesday, November 15th at St. Jude Catholic Church, Tequesta. Burial will follow after the Mass at Riverside Memorial Park, Tequesta.
