Love Emblem

Cunningham, Barbara
Barbara Cunningham, age 82, of Tequesta, FL passed away suddenly in her home on March 7th, 2017. Barb was born in Whitestone, NY and eventually moved to Johnstown, NY with her husband Gene and her two young sons, Michael and John, to open a Dunkin Donuts. She quickly became known as Gloversville's most popular "Donut Lady". After many joyful years in NY, retirement brought Gene and Barbara to sunny Florida where they enjoyed endless rounds of golf and could always be found afterwards at the 19th hole. After Gene's passing in 1997, Barb moved into "her paradise" on the water in Tequesta. It was here where she introduced all who loved her to the joys of "salt life". Barb was passionate about many things. Her family, friends, golf, and sharing the sandbar with her loved ones is what made her happy. No one loved to laugh and make others laugh more than Barbara!
Barbara is survived by her sons, Michael (Eileen) and John. Her grandchildren, Matthew (Courtney), Sean, Danny, Megan, James and her great-grandson Ryan.
Barbara is also survived by her brothers Tim (Connie), Jim (Betty), and Bill (Gladys) Hatton and her sister Mary (Charlie) Keinonen and her brother-in-law Don. Barbara was also dearly loved and will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and cherished friends. We will all miss her deeply and of course will most certainly miss those infamous "homemade" chocolate chip cookies of hers. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00pm Friday, March 10th at St. Jude Catholic Church, 204 N. US Hwy 1, Tequesta, FL, where she was an active parishioner. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, a favorite charity of Barbara's and her granddaughter Megan.
